Greentrail Siberian Huskies have spent the last month in Scandinavia training for the Femundløpet and Finmarksløpet long distance sled dog races. These are two of Europe's toughest races and so far the team have been fed on Quest. Food was taken out with the team at the end of October 2009. The work load is now increasinfg with the 18 adults completing 20 - 30 miles of trail per day. We hope to run 1500 miles in December. Quest provides the basic ingredient of the food programme, supplimented with local meat and all important fat. Temperatures are falling to minus 15c with the dogs outside all day but housed in a barn at night when not running. Extra protein and fat is still essential as the dogs burn calories just keeping warm. Trails here are often 30cm deep in powder and the terrain is mountain - so 30 miles is a far cry from a quick blast around Thetford!!! So far Quest is doing well. the real testing time is the 80 - 100 mile a day trips towards the end of December. See more at www.greentrail.co.uk and the blogg.
Happy trails

Quest +.
We have now been using Quest + on 17 of our main team dogs and have been very pleased with the results so far. All the dogs love the food, no one leaves a single piece and all the bowls are liked clean ( which is a good sign they like it!!!).
Training wise, all the dogs are doing great, liking the colder weather are are still full of energy when we return.

Hi Mel & Nigel,
Glad to hear that the dogs are doing well on Quest, it's a shame the Quest + wasn't ready before you went away, would have been better for the dogs I'm sure.
Keep us informed of you progress.
